Nos Coordonnées

Pierre de Bourgognee are situated in the north of the Cote D’or region of Burgundy, France, an area well known for its wine, its rolling countryside (now a designated National Parks area) and, of course, the quality of its stone.

The workshops of « Métamorphoses Pierres » have been set up on the very edge of the tiny and historic community of Baigneux Les Juifs, to fashion and create fine pieces from that famous local resource.

The Stone

This celebrated limestone has been extracted and worked for over eight centuries, notably in edifices and buildings of great architectural beauty in the area, not the least of which are the Basilique de Vezeley and the Abbaye de Fontaney, now a world heritage site.  Prized for its aestheticism and great durability, fine examples of the stone can be found in the entry walls of the Louvre and in the steps of the famous Pyramid in Paris.  It is regularly used to decorate both the interiors and the external facades of high ranking buildings in Europe and the United States since the stone offers an essential guarantee of living quality.

The Workshop

Métamorphoses Pierres has engaged itself in the expertise of stone-cutting creating from stone  individual and beautiful pieces to grace all parts of the home from finely crafted floor tiles, sinks, bowls and decorated columns to impressive fireplaces.

The equipment used is of the highest technical standard and this allows us to produce designs unique to Burgundy.  The digital computer programming allows accurated cutting and measurement in each item produced.

The cut from the block is worked with just the right blend of colour,  and the careful hand finish and final inspection gives character and uniqueness to each piece.
